- Who is this solution designed for?
- The solution is ideal for clients with TANDBERG™ videoconferencing systems looking at deploying, or expanding on, an enterprise-wide streaming media initiative.
- How does the AMMS work with the TCS?
- TCS is used to transcode videoconferences into streaming content. Once transcoded, the TCS is mapped to the AMMS and the AMMS automatically ingests the archived media file, organizes it in the appropriate content categories, and enables it to be tracked within the AMMS as though it were an Accordent generated presentation.
- Can I import legacy videoconferencing files and other media files into the AMMS?
- Yes, the solution initially supports Windows Media video-on-demand with future support planned to include access to live streaming and device-specific downloads, such as Apple iPod and Microsoft Zune.
- What are the solution components?
- TANDBERG Content Server version S3.0 (or later), Accordent Media Management System™ version 2.1 (systems requirements), content delivery network and network attached storage.
- What kind of search capabilities will I be able to offer end users?
- Like an Accordent presentation, a TCS-generated presentation will be fully searchable. In addition to metadata, such as presenter, presentation title, and date that can be automatically included with the presentation, the presenter also has an opportunity to append additional metadata, such as closed captioning text, prior to publishing to the AMMS.
- How will content be organized and displayed?
- The AMMS enables clients to efficiently group and manage presentations into topic-relevant libraries, such as "All-Hands Meetings," "Molecular Biology," "Town Hall Meetings." The AMMS also lists all presentations with each group.
- Can I customize the portal to reflect my organization’s brand?
- Accordent's standards-based architecture enables companies to completely customize their AMMS to visually convey corporate branding and sculpt the viewer experience. They can move or add components and hide or expose playback features, such as fast forward, full-screen video, thumbnails and more.
- Can I control/track which viewers have watched a presentation?
- Integrating the AMMS with Active Directory services enables clients to secure access to their rich media assets the same way they do their other IT systems by assigning and managing multi-level viewer privileges by any number of organizationally defined groups, and to authenticate viewers & admin users via customizable login IDs and passwords.
- Can I offer any interactive features – like polling or online certification?
- Organizations can use the AMMS to offer online testing and polling, to track user responses to individual or sets of questions, to assess performance over time and to award certificates of completion/success based on viewer responses.
