The ability to organize and search multimedia presentation assets is fundamental to the Accordent Media Management System (AMMS). End users of this powerful system can quickly and easily locate videos and other digital media assets on internal and enterprise networks.

System Administrators have the ability to:

• Categorize rich media by logical content
• Assign unique metadata descriptions to digital assets
• Enable search on metadata as well as chapters and slides
• Batch ingest multi-format media assets for playback via the AMMS Dynamic Media Player

User Authentication

The AMMS integrates with existing LDAP and Active Directory services to enable system administrators to secure access to assets.

Security features include:

• Enabling login authentication and preventing unauthorized access
• LDAP Integration to allow administrators to assign multi-level permissions at the group level and across different organizational groups
• LDAP group category mapping to authenticate users with multiple domains and child domains, thus reducing administrative overhead
• The ability to set content approval workflows for controlled posting of authorized user-generated content

Comprehensive User Tracking

The AMMS enables organizations to secure access to their online communications assets and gather essential information about viewer behavior.

Authentication benefits include:

• Protect content by associating user viewer privileges with their login ID
• Reduce administrative overhead by either leveraging existing LDAP or Active Directory groupings, or, by providing an easy way to map individuals and access rights to specific categories of content that are independent of the LDAP groupings

Tracking features include:

• The industry’s only player-side viewer tracking, enabling highly granular reporting of individual viewer behavior even over multicast
• Track the effectiveness of presentations with reports that monitor viewer behavior, such as length of viewing time and response to interactive elements
• Provide viewers with progress tracking through a dashboard that shows what content they've watched, how much they've watched and enables them to resume viewing as needed
• Track the viewer behavior of content located on other servers, enabling organizations to follow how their users interact with content open to other audiences (such as presentations on a CDN)

Content, Viewer & QOS Reporting

The AMMS empowers organizations to transform viewer information from webcasts into actionable reports that can link the effectiveness of various programs with productivity, training and learning outcomes. Sophisticated network Quality of Service reports enable administrators to track, and improve, the overall streaming experience.

Report Types

• More than 40 performance-based reports that enable clients to correlate viewer, content and network statistics with organizational objectives
• Viewer reporting that monitors end-user behavior (by geography, work group, individual)
• Quality of Service reporting that monitors packet loss during live events (by IP address)
• Presentation-based reporting that monitors who is watching presentation (by origin, peak viewing time)

Report Formats

• Clients can generate reports from anywhere in the system and customize information by drop-down fields
• Reports can be created in multiple formats for various reporting purposes. Report formats include charts, graphs, timelines
• All data gathered in the AMMS reports are exportable to apps such as Microsoft Excel, PDFs and CSV files.

Certification & Testing

AMMS Certification & Testing capabilities help organizations meeting growing demand for online continuing medical education, continuing legal education and government-mandated safety, financial and human resource compliance programs by automating the process of designing, delivering and tracking online training and certification programs. This application-specific module complements the core AMMS system. It contains:

• Multi-format options for tests and survey questions
• Test/pass failure thresholds that can be programmatically set
• The ability to trigger tests upon completion of a video
• The ability to group tests and videos in series
• Response tracking to questions or surveys
• Customizable electronic certificates that can be given to viewers

Scheduling & Notification

Designed for enterprise-wide deployment, the Scheduling & Notification capabilities of the AMMS give system admins the ability to centrally control a wide range of resources and even schedule, activate and monitor multiple Accordent Caputure Station units remotely deployed in training rooms, auditoriums and classrooms. This application-specific module complements the core AMMS system. It contains:

• Ahead of time, event scheduling
• Email notifications
• Calendar reminders
• Accordent Capture Station activation and user administration

Third-party Network Delivery

AMMS v3.5 includes out-of-the-box integrations with third-party CDN and WAN optimization solutions that enable IT organizations to proactively manage how live and on-demand rich media content is delivered and expired over third-party CDN platforms. CDN platforms supported with AMMS v3.5 integrations include Riverbed, Blue Coat and Cisco CDNs and native Microsoft Windows Media Server environments.

The Accordent CDN delivery solutions include two new Accordent software components: the AMMS Media Director™ and AMMS Media Services Agent™:

AMMS Media Director™

• Administration console that enables IT users to establish Distribution Profiles
• Distribution Profiles dictate publishing points and manifest files that schedule, execute and route content
• Profiles also determine business rules and workflows for content publishing and expiration (notification, approvals)
• Includes Three-Tier Retention Management™, which provides rules for expiring content at the edge cache, portal library and database levels

AMMS Media Services Agent™

• Edge server software that runs as a service over WMS/IIS
• Multiple AMMS MSAs are controlled by the AMMS Media Director
• AMMS MSAs can serve as unification layer connecting edge locations, even across a hybrid, multicast/unicast environment
